Requirements for articles publishing on Vietnam Journal Public Health
Vietnam Journal Public Health (VJPH) is the voice of Vietnam Public Health Association (VPHA). It has received the certificate to take part in the press activities of The Cultural and Informatic Ministry: No. 48 dated May 28th 2004. VJPH is the fiirst peer-reviewed scientific journal in the field of public health in Vietnam.As our plan, the first VJPH issue will be pulished in August, 2004. At the beginning period, VJPH will be quartly publised. VJPH publishes qualitative articles and scientific research; providing new information and knowledge involving to public health such as: modern epidemiology, environmental sanitation, infectious disease prevention, cancers, HIV/AIDS, infury, scientific method, public pharmacy, administrative science, economic health, labour medicine, rehabilitation, reproductive health, family planning, adult health, health improvement and education, anthropological and social science, behaviour science, medicine infomation technology...

Before pulishing, the manuscrips are reviewed by correlative proffessors and members of ediorial board. To be accepted for publication on VJPH, please follow the requirements:
A. General requirements:
1. The article is original, that is not under consideration by another journal, and that this material has not been previously published.
2. The article should be not more than 4,000 words including pictures, tables and references.
3. The letter for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text
4. The full terms are used according to the Vietnam encyclopaedic dictionary.
5. Manuscripts must be printed on A4 paper size and computer diskette, Unicode: 6909:2001 VN standard, Arial or Times New Roman font, double-spaced, leave wide margins on all four sides 3cm (about 1 inch).
B. Detailed requirements for each article:
I. Scientific researchs:
1. The title
2. The full names of all authors: name and degree.
3. Vietnamese abstract: limit the number of words to 200. Choose and list of five to eight key words for indexing.
4. English abstract: limit the number of words to 150 and list of five to eight key words as Vietnamese one (it's not compulsory).
5. Contents of the main text:– Main ideas and Objectives– Research Method– Result– Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendation
6. References:
- Number the references in order of mention in text.
- Limit references to 20, if possible.(e.g: Hanoi1,2)
- Identify references in text by arabic numerals in superscript.
- Refer to “A detailed guideline to the writing of referencest”
B. Thanks: optional
C. Biography of author
– To provide brief information including: full name, academic title, degree, title, place of work and address (consisting of letter address, telephone, e-mail, fax)
D. Table:- Limit the number of tables to 5.
– Put the table at the end of article and start each table on a new page.
– Give each table a number in order of mention in text.
– Provide footnotes for explanatory matter.
E. The illustrations:
– Illustration should be submitted in orginal ink drawings or glossy black and whitewhite. Please note that artwork of published articles will not be returned.
– Size of photos and drawings must not exceed 203 x 245 mm.
– Color photographs will be published at the author's expense.
II. General article: General article is based on collection and classification of secondary documents and figures. The order of mention in text can be used according to in scientific research one. However, this belongs to the method to access idea of each author. There must be enough the source of figures indicated and references in general article.
III. Sharing experiment report:
Sharing experiment report can give activities, education programe or public interventions relating to pubic health such as: analysing in detailed on health policy, introducing public health education program combine theory and practice, reporting the content of adult's health conference; appriciating the effect of intervention on environmental sanitation...
IV. Information and translation related to public health:It is necessary to state origin, date of information source or translation.
