Dear colleagues, students and international friends,

Established in 2001 in a field that is still new, especially for undergraduate training, the Hanoi School of Public Heath (HSPH) found itself challenged with many urgent and difficult tasks that all needed to be completed with high quality.  However, with great efforts, the School has step by step overcome these challenges and proved itself viable.
Starting with a small number of permanent staff, our faculty now includes over 60 lecturers who hold masters and doctorate degrees from leading universities of the world. Having begun with small-scale research, the School has now carried out large research projects with nation-wide coverage, some of them considered the largest in the world at their time. As a result, HSPH has become a leading public health research center.  From a single specialist training program, the School has grown to include decent undergraduate and graduate programs. HSPH is also considered a leading institution in international relations. As a result of these international relations, the school has been able to invest more significantly in faculty and program development as well as to strengthen its effective and interactive working environment.
Moreover, aware of the importance of developing the whole system, the School has played a significant role in organizing and running the Vietnam Public Health Association (VPHA). With such a scale and speed of development, the School has received great attention and encouragement from the Vietnamese government, through the Ministry of Health. The school has obtained approval to build the second campus and will receive funding for its construction. Its field laboratory in Chi Linh, Hai Duong, has been admitted to the INDEPTH network.
The School's development strategy focuses on the quality of its programs with the expectation that in five years, a high standard training environment will be completely formed and operated. This will make the School a reliable international training center for Public Health.
