Bachelor of Public Health Program
Bachelor of Public Health Objectives
Overall objective
To train bachelor of public health who has medical ethics, good health, knowledge of basic and social sciences, of basic medicine and public health in order to identify and deal with prioritized health problems of the community and who can learn independently to meet the need of people's health care.
Specific Objectives
1. Describe basic principles and concepts of public health
2. Describe the importance of the primary health care approach in promoting public health
3. Describe the health system, its relation with other sectors and the role of public health in strengthening community health
4. Describe biological, environmental and social factors that affect the health of the community
5. Describe priority health problems in the community and the appropriate interventions
6. Apply qualitative and quantitative methods to identify and address prevalent community health problems
7. Develop plans, propose solutions and organize activities to take care of community health.
8. Monitor and evaluate implementation of public health programs and services
9. Monitor and identify epidemics and emergency early and organize appropriate interventions in collaboration with the community and multi sector agencies.
10. Inform and mobilize the community for action on health matters in order to build a healthy life style by application of appropriate IEC strategies
11. Demonstrate respect and capacity to listen and respond to community's health needs and expectations
12. Demonstrate ability to learn from others; to work in teams and to promote multi-sectoral collaboration.
13. Demonstrate honesty and objectivity, eagerness to learn independently to improve his/her own qualification
