PROFESSIONAL DEGREE TRAINING PROGRAMS (Regular Full time courses)

1. Master of Public Health degree

3.  Master of Hospital Management Program

Since 2004, with the support and permission of the Ministry of Health, the Hanoi School of Public Health has piloted a Master of Hospital Management Training Program. 4. PhD of Public Health degree

 

With the approval of Ministry of Education and Training and Ministry of Health, Hanoi School of Public health officially started the first PhD program of Public health in
Vietnam on March 29, 2006. This is a landmark as doctoral program is the highest level of training program in Public Health in
Vietnam

SHORT COURSES, CONTINUING TRAINING, RE-TRAINING

Continuant training and retraining for health care staff

Based on the annual targets of the Ministry of Health, Hanoi School of Public Health organises different short courses for professionals and staffs in health sector.
1. Administrative management training

The Ministry of Health has assigned Hanoi School of Public Health the tasks to coordinate and provide different courses for health care staff and personnels every year. The school has organised administrative management courses for specialists and personnels in health sector, under the guideline of the MOH.

Duration: full-time courses of 3 months, with a certificate at the end of the course.

2. Hospital management training

Every year, the school usually organises training courses of Hospital management for staff at different hospitals. Learners are mainly members of the management board, heads and deputy heads of departments and offices in the hospitals.

Duration: 2 weeks full-time courses, with a certificate at the end of the course.

3. Foreign language training

The school has classes for C level and communication skill courses for staff/personnels at different institutions under the Ministry of Health.
Duration: 5 months, 4-days/ week. The classes are held at HSPH and certificates are issued by the end of the course

4. Computer skills/ Informatics refresh training

Supplementary courses for bio-medical knowledge and health system background in preparation for master and doctorate degrees training.

For those who want to apply and take entrance exams for master and doctorate degrees in Public Health but do not hold MD or Pharmacist degrees as university background: Department of Graduate Education offers basic supplementary courses. Up to now, there have been many applicants attending these courses.

Duration: full time, 3 months, with a certificate at the end of each course. Specific subject courses:

- Biology and Genetic
- Human Physiology - Introduction to Public Health
- National health programs.

SPECIAL COURSES

Within the framework of international cooperation projects, Hanoi School of Public Health usually offers other short courses (of about 1 or 2 weeks in length) for the following audience: teaching/academic staff (especially the junior staff), collaborators, visiting lecturers of different positions in the school, staff working for international organisations, NGOs, etc. These courses are delivered by different academic faculty member of HSPH (and sometimes international experts as well) and coodinated by the Department of Graduate Education. These courses cover various topics, for example: - Quantitative research methods

- Advanced statistical analysis
- STATA software courses
- Injury epidemiology and prevention

DISTANCE EDUCATION

Hanoi School of Public Health has been piloting some subjects using distance learning approach. Three departments are working on this pilot for CK1 degree of Public Health training: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Demography. Updated information will be announced here or in the website of the specific above academic departments.
