Dept. of Demography offers the following courses:

- Population and Development for Master of Public Health (research-based track)
- Introductory Demography for First Degree of Specialization in Public Health (CK1)

- Population and Development for Bachelor of Public Health (regular and in-service classes)

Main issues covered in our programs and courses:
- Overview of the world’s population, the population of
- Population size, population structure, advantages/disadvantages of demographic data sources - Definition, interpretation of demographic measurements and indicators, such as fertility measurement, mortality measurement, migration and urbanization.
- Relationship between population and development issues (health and health care system, education, economic development and labor force, poverty, environment, etc.)
- How to search and access different sources of information for population data and publication, using POPLINE database and other sources. Detailed course syllabus:
Dept. of Demography is among the first academic units at HSPH applied information technology very soon in teaching and learning. Most of the courses are posted online for students for free access and download. In some courses, online real-time testing is also available for instant response and test results.
