CIRCULATION POLICY

Books on loan

• HSPH's staff and faculty can borrow upto 10 titles of both Vietnamese and English.
• Visiting lecturers and HSPH's students can borrow upto 10 titles of maximum 5 textbooks and 5 other Vietnamese titles.
• Users outside HSPH can read books inside the LIC only.

Loan and renewal period

Loan period for textbooks is 120 days and for other books is 14 days. The loan period for a borrowed book can be renewed once for another 14 days. Borrowed items must be returned or renewed by the due-date to avoid fines. Student/staff card must be given to librarians to renew the borrowed items.

CIRCULATION PROCEDURE

Book borrowing

• Users search for required materials via the LIC's online catalog and then write down the book title and call number (So dinh danh in Vietnamese) to look for that item on the shelf. Bring your student/staff card with the item(s) to the circulation desk to check out.
• If a CDR goes with that item, you can also check that CDR out.
• Make sure to check your item for damage, broken (CDR), dirty, missing pages before checking out. Inform the librarian at the circulation desk if there is any problems with the items you want to borrow. You must be responsible for any problems with the borrowed items after checking out.

Book returning

• You should bring your borrowed materials to the circulation desk to return your items by the due date.
• If you have any overdue items, you cannot borrow other books.

FINE RATES

• Overdue item: 1,000VND/day/item (accumulated from the due date)
• Lost item: Replacement of that borrowed version plus 20,000VND for admin fee or 3 times of the replacement value of that item.
• Damaged item: Charges are assessed according to the conditions of the item, upto the fine of a lost item.
