Occupational Health

   

Introduction

 

Department of Occupational Health(DOH) is under the Faculty of Environmental and Occupational Health, Hanoi School of Public Health, providing training courses on Occupational Health and some other subjects such as Environmental Health, Injury, and Epidemiology for undergraduate and graduate programs. Research and consultancy are also offered.
Occupational Health is an essential topic in public health, dealing with the health and related factors of a major population in society - workers. Knowledge and skills gained in Occupational Health courses will help learners to get involved effectively in health care and management programs in various kinds of workplace. The Department is very active in staff competency development through teaching, research and continuous training. Guest lecturers of DOH are senior specialists with important positions in Ministry of Health and Government Institutions.

General objectives:

At the end of this subject, students should be able to apply the  basic concepts and practice of occupational health for the protection of workers from workplace injuries  and diseases and for the promotion of good health.

Specific objectives:

At the end of this subject, students should be able to:

1.       Understand and apply the basic concepts of occupational health and safety to workplace activities.

2.       Classify the occupational hazards and apply the risk management to sovel a case study.

3.       Understand and apply the current legislation for occupational health and safety to sovel a case study.
